About me

I am an event rider currently based in the Hunter Valley in NSW. Originally from Western Australia, I was involved in Pony Club as a child and was fortunate enough to represent my State at National and International competitions.

Once finishing school I went to Curtin University in WA where I studied Chemical Engineering and Extractive Metallurgy, graduating with first class honours. Whilst at school and university I continued to ride and compete at high levels in eventing trying to achieve my ultimate goal of competing at international levels. Once I graduated from university I packed my bags and a couple of horses and travelled across Australia to NSW to pursue my dream. I landed at the Ryans Equestrian Centre in Newcastle, NSW where I became a working pupil for Heath and Rozzie Ryan who are legends of Australian dressage and eventing.

During my years at Ryans I worked hard on increasing my performances in eventing and becoming more competitive. Ryans was a full time study of high performance training and riding. At Ryans I was introduced to owners who have since become friends and have been great supporters of my dream and goals. I was also heavily involved in running their biannual horse auction Auction of the Stars, their administration, their horse stud and grooming. These extra responsibilities provided me with a great insight into the equestrian industry however, took valuable time and focus away from me achieving my dream. Ryans Equestrian opened my eyes to the equestrian industry and provided me with valuable contacts and experience.

Since moving on from Ryans Equestrian I am even more determined to achieve my goal and working hard on getting more experience at the top levels of Eventing. My goal is now more focused in competing in 5* events and secondly representing Australia at a World Championships or Olympic games. I am currently working on achieving the best outcome with the wonderful horses and the situations I have in front of me and continuing my journey to achieving my goal.
