Breeding

The aim of the CH Eventing breeding program is to produce top quality eventing horses that are of international calibre. We have begun with some 100% thoroughbred and warmblood cross thoroughbred mares in our quest to breed top eventers. We have been breeding since 2017 with the first foals born in 2018 who will soon to be out in the competition arena and we are excited to see how they perform. We have continued to breed one or two foals a year and now have a little herd of youngsters. We are using a mixture of imported frozen semen and local chilled semen over our mares and are really happy with the foals produced so far.

Dart was the first eventing foal born. Dart is a lovely young horse with a super temperament. Dart is now out competing with a young rider in SA.

Sam is by the now gelded Sandhills Sensation. Sam is a very talented jumper and has a quiet nature.

Phryne is a beautiful young mare that has started her eventing career with numerous wins. She is very straightforward to jump and is showing signs of being very talented.

Thierry is a striking young gelding. He has great knee action and great paces. Thierry’s grandsire is the legendary Totilas whose progeny are proving very competitive on the world stage. Thierry is just beginning his journey under saddle.
