Camden in the Heat
The last event of the year was an absolute blast. It is about the hottest event I have ever been to and I don’t think I sweated as much in my life but it was great to be out. I had four horses entered and on Saturday that meant eight rides in the sweltering heat. Dressage wasn’t outstanding but all four horses put in a good effort for respectable scores.
Out of four show jumping rounds only one rail came down which is a personal best for me. Constable is an amazing jumper and powered over a tough course to leave all the rails in the cups. Donut is shaping up to be a wonderful jumper having no trouble leaving the rails up. Michah is all class in the show jumping just doing her job around the course again to have no jumping penalties, the baby of the group Sam in his first ever jump round took one rail, I’m really happy with how he coped with his first round.
Around the cross country Constable ate the track up to come in clear and under time. The only horse in the 3* to finish on his dressage score and bring home another 2nd place. Donut and Michah both are ready to step up to the next level also finishing on their dressage scores and both placing 5th. Sam had a great event getting his first completion on the board.
Bree and Frankie finished on their dressage score in the 60 for a third place.
It was a great weekend away and the Camden committee did a wonderful job putting it on. Bring on next year! And lets hope there are a few more events.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
